Did you hear your elders telling you not to mix medications with alcohol? All we did was not care about why they said it but to make sure we did it anyway. As it comes, they were right about it. Doctors suggest not mixing medications with alcohol for multiple reasons.

Erectile dysfunction or impotence is a sexual disorder in which the affected person cannot hold their erection for a long time. Due to multiple reasons, the person is incapable of satisfying their partner in bed. This can mean a lot to the affected person as the condition can end up ruining their personal lives. Since we live in an era where health conditions are far behind medical evolution, there is an effective and safe solution to the problem. Erectile dysfunction or impotence is said to be treated by the medication named Kamagra. The tablet has an active salt named sildenafil which is responsible for improving the sexual health of the person. The salt helps dilate the blood vessels of the penile area and increase the blood flow down there. The increased blood flow can somehow help the person acquire a strong and durable erection.

Now, since we know how effective and safe Kamagra or sildenafil is, there are some precautions that you should definitely take to avoid any health problems in the near future.

Not consuming Kamagra with alcohol tops the list of precautions.

Here are some proven reasons that suggest not mixing alcohol with sildenafil in any manner.

Why Not Mix Alcohol with Sildenafil?

  • Alcohol and Blood Vessel Connection: It is believed that consuming alcohol on sildenafil can counteract the effects of sildenafil. One major misconception about alcohol consumption is that it helps erection. However, it is not true. Smoking and drinking have been proven to have bad effects on the health of males. Consuming a small amount of alcohol can somehow not have as prominent an effect as drinking in large amounts. But, drinking excessively over sildenafil can cause blood vessels to contract, which results in a difficult erection.
  • Alcohol Makes you Feel Lightheaded: Alcohol and sildenafil have two common side effects: feeling lightheadedness and flushed skin. Sildenafil is a PDE5 inhibitor that promotes vasodilation in your penile arteries. While most people experience the localised effects, some can also experience systemic side effects like feeling dizzy and lightheaded. The impact of alcohol on the body is multi-causal. It thins the blood, causes dehydration, and affects the neurotransmitters.
  • Risky Behaviour: One effect of alcohol consumption is common for all. While sildenafil consumption can boost your confidence in the bedroom, alcohol consumption also results in the same. The excessive confidence boost and lowered inhibition can lead to risky behaviour, which may cause some serious effects. Many studies also show the relationship between alcohol consumption and unprotected sexual activity. We all know how important sexual protection is for multiple reasons. So, alcohol and sildenafil together are a blast.
  • Headaches: We are aware of one of the most common side effects of consuming alcohol: headaches. Consuming alcohol and sildenafil have the same side effect, which is an increased frequency of headaches. People with a history of migraine and headaches should stay away from alcohol consumption. Similarly, sildenafil consumption resulted in increased headaches. So, it is suggested not to consume alcohol and sildenafil together, as the mixture can elevate the frequency and intensity of headaches in people.
  • Flushed Skin: One of the common side effects of both alcohol and sildenafil consumption is flushed skin. The sildenafil and PDE 5 inhibitors also act as vasodilators, the side effects of which were flushed skin when studied in clinical trials. If both alcohol and sildenafil are mixed, it can result in flushed skin and a severe one.

If you are confused if sildenafil and alcohol should be mixed together, maybe you need to rethink it. The effects of their combination are not favourable and should be avoided together.
